The Academic Residence project reimagines a heritage residential
structure as a contemporary housing facility for faculty and staff. CDP
International provided a full design scope from pre-concept to
redevelopment planning, ensuring the building met institutional living
needs while respecting its heritage character.
The design concept preserved heritage façades, materials, and architectural features, while introducing efficient floor plans and shared community spaces.
Across its five levels, the residence accommodates:
· Apartments of varied sizes for staff and faculty members.
· A reception area and lobby at the ground level.
· Shared amenities including an events lounge, business center,
and reading area.
· An outdoor terrace on the upper floor providing communal space.
Material selections and finishes combined heritage-inspired textures with
modern furniture and fittings, creating a balance between continuity and
contemporary comfort.
