This project reimagines a mixed-use structure into a contemporary hub of commerce and residential living. CDP International provided the design scope from pre-concept studies through redevelopment planning, with a focus on balancing traditional identity and early modern architectural influences.
The program incorporates retail shops on the ground floor, activating street life and enhancing urban connectivity, while the upper floors accommodate residential apartments organized for efficiency and comfort.
Architecturally, the building adopts simplified louver windows, parapet treatments, and early modern details inspired by regional heritage. These interventions create continuity with the surrounding fabric while introducing a contemporary character. The design also improves pedestrian connectivity and the relationship between baraha (courtyards) and zuqaq (alleys), reinforcing the urban experience.
